24-hour shops
How a night post runs.
Every site has its own post orders. This is the rhythm most of them follow, from sign-on to handover.
- 17:45Sign on
Guard arrives in full uniform, signs the occurrence book and checks the radio.
- 18:00Handover
The day post briefs the night post: who is on site, what is open, what was reported.
- 20:00Gates and fence
Gates locked, keys counted, fence line walked end to end.
- 23:00Patrol round
Lights, locks, containers and blind corners checked and written up.
- 02:00Quiet hours
The hardest part of the night, so the rounds get tighter, not looser.
- 05:30Open-up check
The site is checked before staff and stock arrive.
- 06:00Handover
Book signed over. Anything out of the ordinary is reported to you.
Move the torch
Look for the bear.
When a site is ours, the Willy's board goes up on the fence. It tells anyone sizing the place up at night that someone is on it, and tells your neighbours who to call.
Our guards work in full uniform and sign shifts into an occurrence book, so there is a written record of who stood your post and what they saw.
The people behind the post.
Experienced, hands-on leadership overseeing every guard, every handover and every client relationship.
